Ikke bekreftet av verken CFM eller Boeing, men endel ting tyder på at CFM har store problemer med LeapX motoren som er eneste valg på 737MAX, det er Leap-1B, som er den som skal brukes på MAX hvor det nå går rykter om at den er 5% dårligere enn spesifisert. Det vil i såfall være et potensielt alvorlig problem for både CFM og Boeing. Leap-1A, som er en av to motorer til A320neo, skal ligge 2% bak skjema, men dette er mer eller mindre vanlig på dette tidspunktet og langt lettere og fikse enn et såpass høyt tall som 5%, som kan innebære større endringer er nødvending

But the severity of the shortfall in the LEAP-1B engine is somewhat shocking, at least for Boeing customers. The shortfall of 2% in the case of the LEAP-1A is relatively unspectacular: the shortfalls of recent engines at EIS like the GEnx and the Trent 1000 were higher.
