KLM’s Tenth 777 Arrives
January 26, 2005 - KLM’s tenth Boeing 777 touched down on Dutch soil yesterday at 09:10 hours. The new aircraft bearing registration PH-BQK, departed from Seattle for Schiphol on January 24. The tenth triple seven has been named "Mount Kilimanjaro." The mountain, along with its surrounding nature reserve was taken up in the Unesco world heritage list in 1987 and therefore fits in perfectly with the name series. The names of all of KLM’s Boeing 777s, with the exception of the first which carries the name of KLM’s founding father Albert Plesman, have been taken from the world heritage list. |
