Government of Sindh Orders Bombardier Learjet 45 XR Business Jet

London, July 19, 2006

Bombardier Aerospace today announced that the provincial Government of Sindh, the second largest of Pakistan’s four provinces, has signed a contract to acquire a new Bombardier Learjet 45 XR super-light business jet. The transaction marks the first sale of a Learjet 45 XR jet into Pakistan.

The Government of Sindh’s new Learjet 45 XR aircraft will be based in Karachi, at Qaid-e-Azam International Airport, and will be used to provide logistics support and transportation of government delegations. The high-performance aircraft is scheduled for delivery in late 2006.

“We are impressed with the flexibility and performance offered by the Learjet 45 XR aircraft, particularly its excellent operations in hot and high conditions. As well, its superior payload-range capabilities and large cabin, which will be configured to carry the maximum of nine passengers, make it perfectly suited to the varied missions it will be required to perform,” said a Government of Sindh spokesperson.

Inspired by over 40 years of Learjet history, the powerful and proven Learjet 45 XR jet flies faster, farther, and with more passengers than any aircraft in its class. Certified to fly up to 51,000 feet (15,545 m) – above traffic congestion and inclement weather – the aircraft’s enhanced engine performance translates to reduced balance field lengths and faster time-to-climb under hot and high conditions.

In June, Bombardier celebrated the milestone delivery of the 300th Learjet 45 aircraft manufactured by Bombardier Learjet in Wichita.

Såpass må det da være. Nå skal det legges til at denne regionen i Pakistan er den rikeste, med stort folketall og store arealer. Og mange egnede PAF-maskiner som allerede er kjøpt og betalt.

Apropos u-hjelp og biz-jets: Namibias president kom på offisielt besøk til Norge tilbake på 90-tallet en gang. Den gamle krigeren ankom i sin splitter nye Falcon 900, betalt med bl.a. norske bistandspenger. Statsministeren stod formerlig og kokte på den røde løperen før dignitæren kom ned trappen.
