Malev har bestemt seg for å kutte ut all long-haul flygninger pga elendige resultater. 767erne vil bli solgt/tilbakelevert og Malev vil først og fremst satse på Europa, da fortrinnsvis Øst-Europa

In response to the rising cost of oil and as a result of the general world economic slowdown, Malév intends to concentrate its capacity and resources on the European network in future, in the process strengthening its regional market position. Accordingly, it is cancelling the operation of its loss-making long-haul flights from the start of the winter timetable this year.
