SAS Sverige to stop flying to Växjö

SAS Sverige is to stop flying the route between Växjö and Stockholm as of July 12, 2008. The reason for this is that the route has had a falling number of passengers and poor profitability for a prolonged period.

Part of the ongoing P08 review of SAS’s operations to achieve improved earnings is the requirement that each route is profitable.

“In the situation in which we currently find ourselves, we are reviewing and adapting our traffic program. A consequence of this is that we have now decided to stop operating the route to Växjö,” says Susanne Dahlberg, Commercial Director at SAS Sverige.

SAS Sverige will continue to offer air travel from Kalmar and Ronneby, which are both located 110-120 kilometers from Växjö.

Customers with bookings
Customers who have already purchased travel with SAS between Växjö and Stockholm on July 12 or later can have their tickets refunded or be rebooked on SAS departures from/to Kalmar-Stockholm or Ronneby-Stockholm.

Customers who have already purchased travel with SAS between Växjö and Nice can have their tickets refunded or be rebooked free of charge on the Kalmar – Nice route (same date).
