Lufthansa cancelled some 60 flights to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle Monday following a wildcat strike by airport staff who were unhappy with the airline's latest wage offer. About 2,000 passengers were affected. Operations were back to normal Tuesday.
Separately, Lufthansa reported that Oct. traffic rose 14.8% to 9.66 billion RPKs, helped by an increase in customers flying on routes to Asia/Pacific destinations. Total passenger numbers were up 13.2% to 4.8 million while load factor rose 0.1 point to 76.2%. Traffic in the first 10 months of 2004 grew 16% from the year-earlier period and passenger numbers climbed 12.7% to 43.4 million.
