KLM is thinking of introducing an SMS baggage service for KLM passengers arriving at Amsterdam (Schiphol).

This service means that you will be informed proactively on the arrival of your baggage. About one minute before your baggage rolls onto the belt, you will get an SMS from KLM. With this SMS, KLM will inform you at which baggage claim belt you can collect your baggage.

So, when arriving at Amsterdam (Schiphol) you no longer have to wait at the baggage claim belt for your baggage. Instead you have the choice to wait anywhere at the airport for a message. This means that you can use your time for something else while waiting for your baggage, for instance by drinking a cup of coffee in one of the bars or visiting a shop.

If you do not have to pass customs (for flights from Schengen countries), the bars, restaurants and shops are less than a minute walking from the baggage claim belts. For flights from non-Schengen countries, the baggage claim belts, restaurants and shops are separated by customs

Som Platinium medlem fikk jeg denne via e-post og svarte på spørreundersøkelsen igår.
God ide særlig i disse tider hvor det lang tid enkelte plasser før baggasjen kommer.

God ide ja, men det kan kanskje også skape problemer. Hva om jeg så sitter på en kaffe med en kaffe eller øl og får denne SMSen. Tror ikke jeg ville ha godt fra ølen min... selv om prisen på en halv-liter i Nederland er betydelig lavere en i Norge.
Da kan det fort samle seg litt mye bagasje på båndet.
