Default Independence Air må endre strategi

Indy Air opts to shift business strategy to stay afloat
(Source : Aviation Daily , October 28, 2004)

Sweeping losses at Independence Air during Q3 forced the carrier into major departures from its business plan to avoid dangerous liquidity levels and garner more bookings. Independence lost US$82m in Q3, compared with a $21m profit a year earlier, when the airline was flying as United Express. Cash stands at $198m versus $298m at the end of December 2003, a 35% dip. Independence plans a significant change from its original business plan by opting to use traditional global distribution systems to increase bookings from business travellers. The carrier is concluding a deal with Galileo and is close to reaching agreements with other GDS providers. Indy plans to cut flights in some of its higher-frequency markets in the winter timetable.
