Default SAS group launch 3 new IC routes

Spanair announces the launch of three new routes as part of its expansion plan

Via the new destinations of Casablanca, Algiers and Banjul, the company will
link Spain with North Africa.

Madrid, 1st February 2007.- As part of its ongoing international expansion plan,
on the 20th of May Spanair will launch 3 new routes, between Casablanca and
Madrid, and Algiers and Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.

These new flights will connect the two main Spanish business centres, Madrid and
Barcelona, with Northern Africa, attending to growing demand from the business
traffic generated by Spanish companies, who have an increasingly important
presence in the North African countries.

These routes will also ensure a large number of connections with Spanair's
domestic network and facilitate a link, via Madrid and Barcelona, with many
international destinations offered by the Star Alliance network member
companies.

In addition, from the 27th of March, Spanair is inaugurating 3 new flights
between Madrid, Barcelona and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Banjul. Spanair will
become a Star Alliance pioneer in offering this destination, with the launch
establishing the first scheduled service between Spain and Gambia.

"We are very satisfied with the launch of our new international operations. Our
objective, apart from strengthening connections with Europe, is to become the
main access point to North Africa for the whole Star Alliance network", stated
Gonzalo Pascual, Spanair's President, adding that "In the near future, Spanair's
business plan is targeting strong international expansion, focused on Europe and
North Africa, as this first phase demonstrates, before moving on to the Middle
East".

Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights, operated
with a fleet of 64 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 150
destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the
largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
