Spanair announces the launch of three new routes as part of its expansion plan
Via the new destinations of Casablanca, Algiers and Banjul, the company will link Spain with North Africa. Madrid, 1st February 2007.- As part of its ongoing international expansion plan, on the 20th of May Spanair will launch 3 new routes, between Casablanca and Madrid, and Algiers and Madrid and Barcelona, respectively. These new flights will connect the two main Spanish business centres, Madrid and Barcelona, with Northern Africa, attending to growing demand from the business traffic generated by Spanish companies, who have an increasingly important presence in the North African countries. These routes will also ensure a large number of connections with Spanair's domestic network and facilitate a link, via Madrid and Barcelona, with many international destinations offered by the Star Alliance network member companies. In addition, from the 27th of March, Spanair is inaugurating 3 new flights between Madrid, Barcelona and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Banjul. Spanair will become a Star Alliance pioneer in offering this destination, with the launch establishing the first scheduled service between Spain and Gambia.
