Hvorfor er det begrensing på antall varianter?

Tja, det er å ordlegge seg litt fleksibelt.

Utfordringen er å ha piloter som er sertifiserte både på Classic, NG og MAX. Her har ikke Southwest og FAA vært helt enige, og Southwest ønsker en pilotgruppe for å gjøre operasjonene deres minst mulig komplekse. I tillegg har det jo også vært litt uenighet mellom Southwest og pilotene om de kunne ta inn en ny type i flåten under dagens avtale

Dessuten begynner jo maskinene dra litt på årene

N619SW har i dag vært involvert i en ulykke under slukking i Australia iflg Coulson, crew skal være OK:
