Ifølge politiet har en gruppe på minst fire væpnede menn natt til lørdag norsk tid gått til angrep på en flybase i Pathankot-distriktet, nær grensen til Pakistan, melder AFP.

Politiet bekrefter til AP at væpnede menn utveksler ild med sikkerhetsstyrker på basen, og at minst én av angriperne er drept. Ifølge nyhetsbyrået ANI skal to terrorister være drept.

Amritsar: Police have shot dead two terrorists who launched a brazen attack on Pathankot Air Force station early Saturday morning. Reportedly, the terrorists came in Army uniforms.
According to sources, the terrorists attacked the Air Force base from a nearby building in a village at around 4am.
Police have cordoned off the whole area and army have been called. Number of terrorists is reported to be around four to six.
DIG (Border) Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh informed that police had shot dead two terrorists while the operation was in progress to neutralize rest of them.

A fierce gunbattle is underway between the security forces and the attackers just a few metres away from the air base. Two terrorists have been neutralized so far.
Helicopters have also been dispatched to the area for assistance in operation.
Barely 12 hours ago, suspected militants in Army outfit had kidnapped Gurdaspur's former Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh on Pathankot-Jammu road. However SP along with his two colleagues were released after an hour.
