SAS trafikktall i februar 2012

SAS Group's February 2012 traffic figures
• SAS Group carried 2.1 million passengers in February, up
6.2%.
• The SAS Group applied careful capacity management
during February and increased capacity (ASK) by 4%.
• SAS Group's traffic (RPK) increased by 4.5%.
• The passenger load factor increased by 0.3 p.u. in February
to 66.9%.
Group market trends, RASK and yield development
Traffic growth continued to be good on short and medium haul
routes during February as the SAS Group carefully managed
its capacity to improve the load factor.
During January 2012, currency adjusted yield was down by
1.2% versus previous year and RASK was up 4.1% due to
improved load factor. For February 2012, (change vs last
year), the yield and RASK will be somewhat weaker than
January.
The response to market campaigns is still good and forward
booking levels are above last year’s level, but premium
bookings are weaker on certain routes. Overall, the market
growth continues to be good, but remains unpredictable due to
added capacity in certain markets, risk in the global economy
and continued high jet fuel prices. This adds uncertainty to the
yield and RASK outlook going forward. Following the reduced
capacity in January, the SAS Group plans to gradually
increase the capacity in line with the seasonally stronger
demand during the first quarter and in total increase the
capacity by 5-6% during 2012.
SAS Group product and news update
• SAS has introduced a self service fast track in Gothenburg.
• Between February 25-26, SAS upgraded its booking system
ResAid to Amadeus Altea booking system.
• For the second year in a row, SAS was awarded a WEBBIE
Award by Flight Global for best use of social media for the
"Summerplane" campaign, where Norwegian Facebookfans of SAS were given the chance to propose and vote for
a new route from Oslo.
Scandinavian Airlines’ traffic development
• Number of passengers increased by 8% to 1.8 million.
• Traffic increased by 7.5% and capacity was up 7.4%.
• The load factor was up 0.1 p.u. to 67.5%.
Scandinavian Airlines traffic grew relatively well during
February apart from the intercontinental traffic, where demand
did not absorb the full capacity increase of 9.7% above all due
to lower demand on Asian routes. On European/
Intrascandinavian routes, traffic increased by 8% and capacity
was up 4.4%. The domestic traffic grew by 10.9%.
Widerøe and Blue1’s traffic development
Widerøe carried 209,000 passengers in February, up 9.8% vs
last year. Capacity was up 8.4% due to above all more
frequencies on existing domestic network. The total passenger
load factor declined by 1.3 p.u. to 56.7%.
Blue1’s positive development in relation to the load factor
continued during February and the load factor improved by 2
p.u. to 62.2%. The capacity was reduced by 41.3% in line with
the focus on the Nordic region. Traffic continued to grow on
routes within the Nordic region despite intensive competition.
Punctuality February 2012
Scandinavian Airlines: 87.4%
Blue1: 85.4%
Widerøe: 79.3%
Regularity February 2012
Scandinavian Airlines: 98.9%
Blue1: 98.3%
