Rimelig heftige forandringer hos BA Executive club fra 1 April. Statusopptjening blir nå revenue based. 1£=1point. Og Gullkort blir 20.000 points. Do the math. Her sakset fra Flyertalk:

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...il-2025-a.html

Just released by BA (with more analysis over at headforpoints.com obviously):

Introducing The British Airways Club: More ways to earn Tier Points than ever before
As part of a re-brand of its loyalty programme, British Airways has unveiled new ways for Members to earn Tier Points, including spend on co-brand credit cards and when paying for extras such as seat selection and additional baggage
Simply to be called The British Airways Club, the programme will also recognise milestones between Tiers
It will also introduce a permanent, limitless Tier Point earning proposition on holiday packages from British Airways Holidays following the success of a recent double Tier Points promotion
It follows changes last year to award customers Avios based on their spend, which has seen 70% of customers collecting the same or more Avios as they did under the previous model
Monday December 30, 2024:  British Airways has today announced changes to its loyalty programme, introducing new ways to earn Tier Points to progress through the Tiers.

The former British Airways Executive Club will become simply The British Airways Club and will come with a new look and feel. From 1 April 2025, Members can expect:
A new Tier Point system when flying: Members will earn Tier Points based on the cost of their flight and, for the first time, for ancillary spend including seat selection and excess baggage. Members will earn 1 Tier Point for every £1 of eligible spend*, which comes with recalculated Tier thresholds** to reflect the new model.
Tier Points on a contribution to Sustainable Aviation Fuels*** (SAF): Members will also earn Tier Points and collect Avios by purchasing a contribution to SAF, earning up to 1,000 Tier Points per year. Customers will also be able to use their Avios as a form of payment, which they can do by simply visiting a dedicated landing page which will be live on April 1, 2025.
Limitless Tier Points on British Airways Holidays: After the success of the British Airways Holidays double Tier Points promotion, the airline has created a permanent proposition on holiday packages. Members will earn Tier Points based on the price of the entire package, with no limit in place, making it possible to earn elite status in fewer trips than under today’s offer.
Later in 2025, Members can also expect:
Tier Points on credit card spending: BA American Express Premium Plus Cardmembers will be able to earn up to 2,500 Tier Points by spending on their card. More details of this offer will be announced closer to the launch date.
New milestone benefits between Tiers: By introducing more milestone moments between Tiers, Members will be able to unlock rewarding benefits before reaching their next level. This will start with gifts of 2,500, 4,000 and 5,000 Bonus Avios at milestones within Bronze and Silver. More benefits will be announced in the coming months.
Colm Lacy, British Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “The changes we have announced today underline our continued investment in our loyalty programme and in our customers. Based on our Members’ feedback, we’ve built on the changes we’ve already made – including how customers collect Avios and their membership year – in a way that we believe better rewards their loyalty and reflects their changing travel needs.

“While we have announced a number of positive changes today, I particularly wanted to highlight better rewarding our customers who book through British Airways Holidays and making this a permanent part of our proposition, removing the limit on earning. We know that many of our customers make their holiday plans during our annual January sale period, so it’s great to be able to announce this today.”

Customers who already hold bookings for travel after 1 April 2025 will be awarded Tier Points based on a conversion of the existing method. Any existing bookings will earn proportionally the same number of Tier Points, or more, as they would today.

To celebrate these changes, British Airways is offering limited time bonus Tier Points when booking before 14 February 2025 for travel from 1 April 2025. Bonus Tier Points will be awarded based on cabin, from Euro Traveller to First****.

The Club has already announced several changes as part of its transformation. Last year the carrier made changes to its Avios earning model that saw customers earn Avios based on their spend and not distance. This move has seen British Airways issue more Avios than ever before, with the majority of customers collecting either more or the same as they did under the previous model.

Elsewhere the airline expanded its ‘Pay with Avios’ proposition to make every flight available from as little as £1. More than 10 Avios-Only flights have operated since launching in November 2023, and Members are currently transitioning to one Tier Point collection period, allowing friends and family to be on the same timeline.

British Airways has also introduced an exclusive offer for Members in partnership with The Wine Flyer, IAG Loyalty’s online wine retailer. Members will be eligible for discounts on a wide range of wine, beers and spirits depending on their Tier status – Bronze (5%), Silver (10%), Gold (15%) and Gold Guest List (20%).

The changes are part of British Airways’ overall £7bn transformation programme, announced earlier this year. Customers can expect an improved digital experience with a brand-new website and app, new and improved aircraft and a new First suite, to name a few examples.

Notes to editors

*Eligible spend includes the base fare and the Carrier Imposed Charges (YQ and YR), but not the non-airline taxes and fees. The price breakdown can be found on the “Flight Summary” page before confirming a booking or on the booking confirmation email (e-ticket receipt). When purchasing a British Airways Holidays package and any eligible add-ons (seat selection, additional baggage or cabin upgrades), eligible spend will be the full amount spent.

**Tier Thresholds:
Bronze: 3,500
Silver: 7,500
Gold: 20,000
Gold Guest List: 65,000 (with at least 52,000 earned through British Airways-marketed flights, qualifying add-ons and British Airways Holidays packages), and 40,000 to retain (with at least 32,000 earned through British Airways-marketed flights, qualifying add-ons and British Airways Holiday packages).
***Sustainable Aviation Fuels’ (‘SAF’) are defined in the Refuel EU Aviation Regulation as aviation fuels that are either synthetic aviation fuels, aviation biofuels or recycled carbon aviation fuels. For further information, please visit ba.com.

****Bonus Tier Points will be awarded as follows:
Euro Traveller: 50
Club Europe: 100
World Traveller: 70
World Traveller Plus: 140
Club World: 210
First: 330
Her link til Head for points med ca samme info. Derfor ingen quote:

https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/1...-based-status/

Quote:
Will my current Lifetime Tier Point balance change?Yes, Lifetime Tier Point balances will be adjusted to reflect the changes to how Tier Points are earned from 1 April 2025 and the new Lifetime thresholds.

Your proportional progress towards the next Lifetime threshold will be carried over. For instance, if you’ve collected 50% of the Lifetime Tier Points required for Gold for Life, your new balance will equal 50% of the new threshold.

For example:
Current balance – 17,500 Lifetime Tier Points
This will be converted to – 275,000 Lifetime Tier Points
Or, if you’re already a Gold for Life Member, your Lifetime Tier Points balance will be proportionally transferred so it reflects equivalent progress to Gold Guest List for Life, or at least 550,000 Lifetime Tier Points, whichever is higher.

Here’s an example:
Current balance – 50,000 Lifetime Tier Points
This will be converted to – 750,000 Lifetime Tier Points

Jeg har 31.000 Life Time Tierpoints. Nesten Gold for life.

Men som man sier "you do you boo...", så stemmer folk med lommeboka.

https://www.britishairways.com/conte...h-airways-club

BA Silver <=> EBG
BA Bronze <=> EBS

En liten sammenligning ifht Oslo som startsted:

Før BA silver krever 600TP
  • BA OSL-NYC t/r business (2x40+2x140) 360 TP (60% sølv)
  • QR OSL-DOH-SIN t/r business: (4x140) 540 TP (90% sølv)
  • AY OSL-HEL-SIN t/r buiness: (2x40+2x140) 360 TP (60% sølv)

Nå BA silver krever 7500 TP
  • BA OSL-NYC t/r business (rev based I-klasse, 1750GBP): 1750 TP (23% sølv)
  • BA OSL-NYC t/r business (rev based J-klasse, 5700GBP): 5700 TP (75% sølv)
  • QR OSL-DOH-SIN t/r business (P/R/I-klasse, distance-based ): (6939 mi*2*0,25) 3470 TP (46% sølv)
  • QR OSL-DOH-SIN t/r business (J/C/D-klasse, distance): (6939*2*0,5) 6939 TP (92% sølv)
  • AY OSL-HEL-SIN t/r business (R/I-klasse, distance): (6237*2*0,25) 3119 TP (42% sølv)

Kort oppsummert i mitt hode:

BA’s loyalty programme shake-up will make the airline more upmarket

Ignore the keyboard warriors – making it harder to earn silver or gold frequent-flyer status is the right move

Quote:
Currently, some of our Members reach Bronze and Silver through the number of flights they take with us each year, particularly those who commute regularly by flying.

We know those Members value the simplicity of this approach and the certainty it provides.

So The British Airways Club will continue this method of earning status. Simply take 25 flights with a British Airways code to reach Bronze, or 50 to reach Silver.
NB!

Ruten går, men ser ingen billetter for avios tilgjengelig i lang tid fremover.

Er jo veldig positiv nyhet for dem som reiser mye short haul i jobb da.
