Lufthansa - endring av rute og utstyr

Fram til nå har Lufthansa hatt rute Frankfurt - Bangkok - Manila med en B744. I Manila har Lufthansa Technik egen hangar hvor de foretar periodisk vedlikehold av denne flytypen (B744).

Til min store forbauselse ser jeg at fra 28 mars skal Lufthansa legge om sin rute til Manila ved å fly fra Frankfurt via Guangzo (CAN) i Kina med en A340-600.

Er det noen som har kontakter i Lufthansa som kan finne ut om det er meningen at dette skal være en permanent løsning? Hva skjer med vedlikeholdet av B744 i MNL nå da?

Håper noen kan klare å grave frem et svar her!

I siste Flight International står det om Lufthansa Technik i Manilla. Satser nå på A320 for å få mer business fra det lokale marked. I tilleg har de skrevet kontrakt på vedlikehold av A340 for Air Mauritsius.

Air Mauritius is newest LTP heavy maintenance customer


Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) welcomed its newest heavy maintenance customer in Manila. The Air Mauritius A340-300 aircraft arrived at the maintenance facility of LTP for its scheduled ten year check.


The aircraft has been docked in LTP’s hangar next to an A340-300 of Philippine Airlines currently undergoing a five-year check. LTP operates two production lines dedicated to A330/A340 base and heavy maintenance in Manila.


Air Mauritius operates a fleet of five A340-300, two A319, two B767ER, one ATR 72 and two ATR 42 from its home base in Mauritius. The carrier maintains an extensive worldwide network. Most frequently served intercontinental destinations are Paris and London.


Air Mauritius joins LTP’s growing heavy maintenance customers base, which includes European operators like Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa German Airlines.


“We are proud to welcome Air Mauritius as our newest customer of LTP, our first customer from the African region”, said LTP President and CEO Dr. Andreas Heizner.


Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik (51%) and MacroAsia Corporation (49%) that took over the Philippine Airlines maintenance and engineering operations in September 2000. Starting in 2003, LTP has established a dedicated A330/A340 operation for base and heavy maintenance. In January 2004, the capacity has been doubled by a second production line.
