Leser om saken på airliners.net nå. Kinesisk ATC sendte flyet mot en nordlig rute som Japanerne ikke ville godta av en eller annen grunn og ble sendt til bake til luftrommet over HKG og sirklet over der i nærmere fem timer før flyet fikk sendt inn en flightplan som japanerne godkjente.

The aircraft took off from HKG on time and on the climb-out, the Chinese ATC sent them on a northerly course to the north of Japan, and they weren't cleared by Japan ATC to enter their airspace at that location and they didn't allow the flight to overfly Japanese airspace and sent them back to HKG where they circled over HKG for almost 5 hrs while the flight crew refiled for a new clearance to cross over Japanese airspace, and SEA was the predetermined divert location.
