year, an increase of 197 291 passengers (13 %).
Compared to the same period last year:
 Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 18 %
 Total capacity (ASK) increased by 21 %
 The load factor was 80 %, down 2 p.p.
The increase in passenger traffic, production and
passengers is related to the Group’s expansion in
established markets and to the introduction of new
routes from September 2011 to August 2012, as well
as adjustments to production capacity.
The average flying distance for the Group increased
by 6 % in August compared to the same period last

Sterk passasjervekst for Norwegian i august

Passasjerveksten fortsatte for Norwegian i august måned. Totalt fløy mer enn 1,7 millioner passasjerer med selskapet, en økning på 13 prosent sammenlignet med samme måned i fjor. Fyllingsgraden var også høy mens en ellers god punktlighet ble betydelig påvirket av flygeledermangelen hos Avinor.

I august i år fløy 1 724 046 passasjerer med Norwegian. Den totale trafikkveksten (RPK) økte med 18 prosent. Kabinfaktoren var på 80 prosent i august, 2 prosentpoeng lavere enn rekordtallene fra august 2011.

- I løpet av det siste året har over 17 millioner valgt å reise med oss. Det er inspirerende å se at et stadig bedre flytilbud gir seg utslag i så gode passasjertall, sier administrerende direktør Bjørn Kjos.

Hittil i år har Norwegian faset inn 9 av i alt 13 fabrikknye fly som skal leveres i løpet av 2012.

Norwegian opererte 99,8 prosent av de planlagte flygningene i august, hvorav 87,8 prosent gikk på oppsatt rutetid. Uten flygelederproblemene ville punktligheten til Norwegian totalt vært nærmere 91 prosent i august, og hele 93 prosent over OSL.

PASSENGER REVENUES
The unit revenue (RASK) is estimated at 0.43 for the period
(3 %).

OPERATING PERFORMANCE
In August the Group operated 99.8 % of its
scheduled flights, whereof 87.8 % departed on time.
Punctuality was affected by understaffing in the
Control Tower at Oslo Airport (OSL).

HEDGE POSITIONS
The Group has entered into term contracts and
options during the period. By the end of August the
Group estimates a quarter-to-date loss of
approximately MNOK 113 related to the hedge
positions. Quarter-to-date agio (gain) on USD
denominated loans was MNOK 135 by the end of
August.
