Estonian Air legger ned to ruter og returnerer Saab 340

Estonian Air sier de vil erstatte sine to Saab 340 med større fly. Legger ned Tallinn-Vilnius og Tallinn-Minsk.

Estonian Air to replace SAAB 340 aircraft with bigger turbo-propeller planes, discontinues flights from Tallinn to Vilnius and Minsk



Estonian Air’s management has decided to return this year Saab 340 aircraft to the leasing company in order to replace them with bigger turbo-propeller planes. The change is related to the strategic goal of Estonian Air to offer its customers faster and more frequent air links between Estonia and various European cities. Currently Estonian Air is assessing the final decision on the aircraft type and taking steps in implementing a new aircraft type in its network.
Consequently, Estonian Air has decided to decrease the number of flights with Saab 340 already from the beginning of the summer flight schedule in order to have the transition to the new aircraft type more smooth and cost effective.

The returning process will take place step by step and from April 2011, Estonian Air Regional serves flights with one SAAB plane. This leads to changes in the regional flight schedule: as from 1 April to 2 September 2011, Estonian Air will discontinue flights to between Tallinn and Vilnius and from 28 March to 26 October 2011, between Tallinn and Minsk. However, Estonian Air will operate flights between Tallinn and Minsk to meet the higher seasonal demand on 15 and 18 April 2011 and 6 and 9 May 2011.

Every customer who has booked or bought tickets onto cancelled flights will be offered alternatives by Estonian Air individually or have the ticket refunded.
Estonian Air apologizes for any inconvenience to the passengers.

AIaiai, ser ut som tiden begynner å renne ut for å fly disse Saab 340'ene. Hadde en liten plan om å ta en tur til ARN eller TLL for å fly den mellom de to byene, men jeg måtte legge planene på is...

Estonian Air gjenåpner Tallinn-Vilnius.

Starting from 5 September 2011, Estonian Air will resume flights between Tallinn and Vilnius serving the route with eight weekly flights.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays flights are operated twice a day with early morning and evening departure from Tallinn. On Mondays and Fridays flights are operated once a day with evening departure from Tallinn.
The route is served with 33-seater SAAB 340 aircraft, the flight time is 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Om du vil fly med Saab 340 kan du fly til Fagernes med DAT (DOT). Greie fly.

Hva skjer med tanke på erstatter for Saab 340? Det står at en maskin skulle ut i april, men Estonian har fortsatt to maskiner i trafikk. Virker litt som Estonian Air ikke har funnet noen erstatter. De får riktignok en tredje CRJ-900 i februar neste år, men i pressemeldingen snakkes det jo om propellfly.
