Munchen bygger ut T2 med en ny satelitt

Da er det blitt vedtatt å bygge ut T2 i Munchen med en frittstående satelitt, der hvor deler av fjernpark er i dag. Den vil bli linket til dagens T2 gjennom en underjordisk tunnell og bane. Planlagt åpning er 2015 og kostnadene fordelen 60:40 mellom flyplassen og Lufthansa, og vil derfor bli bygget for Lufthansa og deres allliansepartnere

Lufthansa and Munich airport's operator FMG have approved plans to construct a satellite building to increase the capacity of the Bavarian hub's Terminal 2.

The new facility will be build on top of the existing baggage sorting hall on the easterly apron 2, which is employed to sort baggage for aircraft on remote stands. The satellite building will be connected to Terminal 2, which is exclusively used by Lufthansa and its partner airlines, by an underground passenger link.

Betyr dette at Lufthansa betaler mindre avgift på MUC enn andre selskaper? Det er jo litt av en investering. Er dette en vanlig måte å gjøre det på rundt om i verden? Har f.eks BA betalt for T5?

Uansett så synes MUC er en av de bedre flyplassene å ha transfer og tipper det blir like bra / om ikke bedre når T2 kommer. Velger glatt MUC fremfor FRA om jeg kan.

Nei, det er ikke vanlig i Europa, men andre deler av verden så er det annerledes. Lufthansa eier vel 40% av T2, og har full kontroll over driften der.

Arkitektene som tegnet OSL tenkte nettopp slik, det skal befinne seg kulvert under bakken, slik at det kunne være en forbindelse til en frittstående fremtidig terminal nord for den eksisterende, men istedet ble det en løsning med Pier nord + utvidelse i øst og nå ser det ut til at det skal bygges en bro ut fra gate 17, over til en terminalbygning på 5200 m2 med 8 gater. Eksisterende OSL har 148 000m2, mens nye T2 har tilsammen 114 000 m2.

Munchen har også fått myndighetsgodkjennelse til å bygge en 3. rullebane, selv om det er ikke er helt umulig at man må en tur via rettsapparatet pga diverse søksmål og klager før man kan sette spaden i jorden

Like Terminal 2, the satellite will be operated jointly by FMG and Lufthansa, which will hold 60% and 40% ownership, respectively. The new facility will have 27 adjacent aircraft park positions, allowing passengers to board flights directly and with no bus transfer. Panoramic views and a bar overlooking the apron; in future, Lufthansa passengers can pass the time while waiting for their connection in an extremely relaxed atmosphere. At the opening ceremony for the Satellitengebäude in April 2016, five new lounges with a total area of 4,000 square metres will be available for first class and business class guests as well as Lufthansa HON-circle members, passengers with Lufthansa Senator status and frequent travellers; thus, Lufthansa will double their lounges in Munich once again. “The new Lufthansa lounges in the Satellitengebäude are a further quantum leap forward to more quality and a five-star service. The light atmosphere and direct views over the apron will capture our customers’ imagination”, says Thomas Klühr, Lufthansa Passage board member for finance & hub Munich. All lounges will be located in the central area of the new building and will be quickly accessible and conveniently situated for the customers.

On the top level, (an area of more than 1,000 square metres) the new first class lounge is currently being developed. Here, first class passengers and HON-circle members can relax in a luxurious atmosphere. The lounge will offer several bedrooms and working spaces, a bar area, luxury bathrooms and a separate lounge for cigar smokers. A gourmet restaurant will provide meals à la carte as well as a premium-quality buffet. Separate passport control within the lounge will cater for a convenient arrival or departure. If passengers leave from or arrive at an apron position a limousine service will bring them directly to an aircraft or the first class lounge.

For the Lufthansa Senator and business lounges on the Non-Schengen level along the panoramic windows of both lounges, a special feature is available; a bar with barkeeper will provide cold and warm drinks as well as coffee specialities and cocktails to our customers. For the Munich Lufthansa Senator lounges, the famous warme Leberkäs mit Brezn und Kartoffelsalat is a must, slices of a warm meatloaf with lye pretzel and potato salad will be available at the buffet, as well as a changing menu with hot dishes or a comprehensive breakfast in the morning. Guests in the business lounges will enjoy their waiting time in a bistro area where armchairs invite them to stay and relax. Additionally, an area with more than 3,000 square metres, Lufthansa Senator and business lounges offer separate working spaces, a TV area and comfortable shower rooms.
