South African Airways starting 15AUG12 will cancel daily Cape Town - London Heathrow operation (LHR departure cancelled from 16AUG12), currently operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The Star Alliance member launched this route initially on nonstop basis with Boeing 747SP roughly between 1975 and 1977. Between late-70s and mid-80s, the airline operated multi-stop flight between the two cities.
