SAS SAS i september

SAS har i likhet med Norwegian (se annen tråd) offentliggjort sine trafikktall for september i dag.

Quote:

SAS Group's September 2011 traffic figures
SAS Group's traffic (RPK) increased by 5.4% during September and capacity (ASK) increased 5% vs same period.
• The passenger load factor increased by 0.3 p.u. in September to 74.6%.
SAS Group carried 2.6 million passengers in September, up 4.7%.
Group market trends, RASK and yield development

During August 2011, currency adjusted RASK was up by 0.7% versus previous year and yield was down 2.2%. For September 2011, (change vs last year), underlying currency adjusted RASK and yield are expected to be weaker than 2010.

The market growth continues to be good, but remains unpredictable due to added capacity in certain markets, risk in the global economy and risk of continued high jet fuel prices. This is also adding uncertainty to the yield and RASK outlook going forward.

Scandinavian Airlines is continuously improving its customer offering, that is also reflected in a clearly improved customer satisfaction that is the highest in eleven years.

SAS Group product and news update
SAS will gradually launch SAS Smart Pass to all Euro Bonus Gold customers starting in October. Once rolled out, customers will be able to use SAS Smart Pass on SAS flights within Schengen.
SAS will take in-flight connectivity to a higher level and remove the need for “Flight Mode”. By July 2012, already ten short haul aircraft will be equipped to not only allow the use of in-flight internet service, but also allow customers to use mobiles, smart phones and BlackBerry® devices to send and receive SMS text messages and use data services.

Scandinavian Airlines’ traffic development
• Number of passengers increased by 4.9% to 2.2 million.
• Traffic increased 7.3% and capacity was up 6.3%.
• The load factor was up 0.7 p.u. to 76.2%.

Traffic growth was relatively even between different geographical regions during September. The intercontinental traffic was the strongest and was up 8.7% in September and capacity increased by 10.8%. Traffic on North Atlantic routes grew by 18%, while demand on Asian routes was weaker. On European routes, traffic was up 7.5%, above all driven by growth to/from Sweden. Intrascandinavian traffic increased by 5.9% and capacity increased by 7%. Norwegian domestic traffic increased by 7.4% despite reduced capacity by 0.9%. Traffic on Swedish domestic routes grew by 1.5%, but the load factor was down by 1.7 p.u.

Widerøe and Blue1’s traffic development
Widerøe's carried 231,000 passengers in September, up 15.1% vs last year. Capacity was up 15.5% due to Widerøe taking over SAS turbo prop production on Norwegian domestic routes, new routes within Norway and more frequencies on intra-Scandinavian routes from Norway to Copenhagen. The load factor was slightly up to 60.2 %.

Blue1’s capacity was down 16.4% during September following a 34% capacity reduction on European routes in line with the refocus on Finnish and Scandinavian routes. Capacity on domestic and Scandinavian routes was as a result increased 14%. Due to lower demand on European routes and intence competition on Finnish domestic routes, the load factor fell by 7.5 p.u. in September.
