CHC shareholders back takeover deal

Shareholders of Canada’s CHC Helicopter have approved the acquisition of the company by a unit of First Reserve Corporation.

The deal involves the purchase of all CHC’s outstanding Class A Voting Shares and Class B Multiple Voting Shares for C$32.68 (US$32.35) per share.

The arrangement was backed by 99.9% of shareholders, CHC said in a statement.

It said the deal was still subject to a number of conditions, and was expected to close in June this year.
