Default SK2308,LN-BUC, 3 august 2012

SK2308(LN-BUC) måtte i kveld lande på Gardermoen med 1 motor i drift. Iflg pilot skyldes dette "stalling" av motoren.. Etter som jeg forstår, så kan ordet "stalling" ha flere betydninger, men hva betyr dette i flymotor sammenheng?

One has to reduce the power setting and dive the aircraft to build up sufficient ram air into the air inlet and then gradually open up the power to the desired levels. If the ignition has died out, then a full 'air start' procedure must be followed.

A compressor stall, if left unattended, can eventually result in a total shut down and even damage to the engine itself. In a stalled condition, the rotor blades are in a stalled state with separation of the boundary layer.

Skjer jo fra tid til annen. Men er det noe problem å stenge ned motoren og starte den på nytt?
Er jo normal prosedyre å stenge av motorer i luften og starte de på nytt etter større ettersyn.
Eller må motoren sjekkes etter en slik hendelse?

En slik stall kan i verste fall gi alvorlige skader på motoren, så det er nok tryggest å la være å gjøre det verre ved å prøve å restarte.

Her er resultatet iallefall :

INITIAL BORESCOPE INSPECTION SHOWS SEVERAL DAMAGE TO HPC STAGE 9.
ENGINE TO BE REPLACED BEFORE FIRST FLIGHT.

En motorstall er kritisk, og slett ikke bra.
En såkalt "surge" kan også oppstå i kompressor.
I slike tilfeller får rett og slett ikke deler, eller hele motoren tilstrekkelig med luft.

Jeg liker å sammenligne det med å bli slått i magen når du er på utpust. Du klarer ikke hente deg inn igjen.

Samme som turboer på hovedmotorer ombord i båter eg har vert på, vi kaller det at turboen "Bjeffer" - ikkje hyggelig når det skjer når man er i nerheten av turboen!
