Here we go again: Pan American may see a return to the skies yet again, under Pan American Airways Global Holdings. This marks the latest attempt to jump start the old, iconic brand.

The new start-up plans to focus its operations “within the southern tier markets”, according to a press release. It adds that it is “committed to delivering a top flight level of service that was once enjoyed by many worldwide, and those expectations will be extended into the new 21st century business model, as we continue to proceed with our plans to launch early, to mid-summer of this year.”

Men Eastern gir seg ikke ...

Eastern Air Lines announced it has placed an order for up to twenty Boeing 737 aircraft on Thursday.

The order is split between a firm commitment for ten Boeing 737-800 Next Generation and options for up to ten Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets. The deal is worth nearly $2 billion at list prices, though discounts off sticker price are common. A delivery schedule was not provided, though the carrier’s website says first delivery is expected in the “late summer of 2014″.

Og denne maskinen vil primært fly for for NHL-laget Florida Panthers.

The Eastern plane is emblazoned not only with its familiar logo and striping, but also the Panthers’ leaping cat logo on the tail fin as well as on the fuselage.

More importantly to the Panthers, the plane is equipped with 64 business-class seats, work tables and a training room, enabling players to get their bumps and bruises looked after while in flight.

Eastern Air Lines (EAL, Miami Int'l) has converted an existing 2014 order with Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) for ten B737-800s, to ten B737 MAX 8s. The Floridian charter specialist also holds an additional ten options for the type.

Founded in 2009, Eastern Air Lines currently operates one B737-700 and four B737-800s on charter and ACMI services.
