The total number of passengers flown by
Norwegian.no in August 2008 was 693 758 compared to 600 859 last year, an increase of 92 899 passengers (15 %), and a 28 % increase in passenger traffic. -Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 28 %, compared to last year. -Total capacity (ASK) increased by 38 %, compared to last year. -The cabin factor was 78 %, which is a decrease of 6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. -The company estimates a yield around NOK 0.63 for August 2008 (+9 %) The total number of passengers flown by Norwegian.se in August 2008 was 163 378 compared to 123 067 last year, an increase of 40 311 passengers (33 %), and a 63 % increase in passenger traffic. -Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 63 %, compared to last year. -Total capacity (ASK) increased by 70 %, compared to last year. -The cabin factor was 83 %, which is a decrease of 4 percentage points compared to the same period last year. -The company estimates a yield around NOK 0.55 for August 2008. http://www.newsweb.no/newsweb/atmnt/...8.pdf?id=58699 |

Det er sant, men ofte følger det med uttalelser om hvordan trafikken i Polen har utviklet seg.

Sånn går det når prisene går opp, trenger ikke å være så dramatisk. Uansett er august en måned Norwegian ikke bør ha så mye nedgang i kabinfaktor. Dette er vel første gang i selskapets historie at august-flyene går ned.

Nedgangen i C/F henger sammen med økningen i kapasitet - de nye 189-seterne setter sine spor. Selv Ryanair klarer ikke å øke RPK i samme grad som ASK i et usikkert marked, så det virker ganske naturlig at C/F går ned.
Gitt ancillary revenue på 50/pax (46,8 i Q2) skal NAS ha en Cost per ASK (CASK) på mindre enn 53 øre for å gå rundt. Sier vi at CASK er 53 øre (godt mulig i aug), og hver pax legger igjen 55 kroner (mer salg på ferie-rutene om sommeren enn OSL-BGO i Q2), så skulle NAS ha et resultat på 3 millioner i pluss på den norske operasjonen (.se er uansett i rødt...)
