Finnair Oyj Company Announcement STRONG GROWTH FOR FINNAIR'S ASIAN TRAFFIC AND LOAD FACTOR ON THE RISE

The demand in Finnair's Asian traffic, measured in passenger kilometers, was up
34.9% in August compare to last year. The passenger load factor rose three
percentage points to 82.5%. European traffic grew nearly 30%. Demand in North
American scheduled traffic was down by 4.5% and the passenger load factor was
86.6%. Domestic capacity was reduced and the passenger load factor improved.
Finnair's entire scheduled traffic increased by 27.1% compared to July last
year. The passenger load factor was 77.2%, up 1.7 percentage points. The number
of passengers carried was 615 169, up 12.6%.

Finnair leisure traffic decreased by 10.5% from the previous year. As capacity
was cut with 1.4%, the passenger load factor was down 7.8 percentage points.
Finnair's total capacity and demand increased by 19.8% in July, resulting in a
passenger load factor of 77.1%, same as last year. All Finnair Group airlines
altogether transported 709 832 passengers, which is 8.6% more than a year ago.

Finnair's Tallinn-based subsidiary Aero AS, carried 23 335 passengers (- 60.8%)
on routes between Helsinki and the Baltic capitals and within Southern Finland.
Aero figures are respectively included in Finnair Group total figures. At the
end of June, Finnair sold its Stockholm-based subsidiary airline FlyNordic and
its traffic performance is no longer reported as part of Finnair Group
statistics. For better comparison, equivalent figures for last year have been
adjusted accordingly.

Arrival punctuality of scheduled flights was 83.7% (based on a fifteen minute
standard), -4.7 points lower than in August 2006. Leisure flights included,
arrival punctuality was 82.5% (-4.5 p.p).


Scheduled traffic
In scheduled traffic (international + domestic) revenue passenger kilometres
increased by 27.1%. The change in capacity was 24.4%. The passenger load factor
was 77.2%, 1.7 percentage points higher than last year.

In scheduled international traffic, the total number of passengers was up by
23.4%. Capacity in ASKs was 27.4%, while RPKs increased by 29.3%.

In European scheduled traffic, ASKs increased by 28.9%, and as RPKs increased by
29.5%, the passenger load factor was 70.5%, up 0.3 points from the previous
year.

In North Atlantic scheduled traffic, capacity increased by 1.0%. Change in RPKs
was - 4.5%, and the passenger load factor for July was 86.6%, 5.0 points lower
than previous year.

In Asian scheduled traffic, the capacity increase was 30.1%. Passenger traffic
was up by 34.9%. Passenger load factor was 82.5%, 2.9 percentage points up.

Domestic scheduled traffic decreased by 11.5% on a capacity decrease of 16.6%.
The passenger load factor increased by 3.6 percentage points to 61.7%.


Leisure traffic
ASKs for leisure traffic decreased in July by 1.4%, and RPKs decreased by 10.5%,
resulting in a passenger load factor of 76.4%, 7.8 points lower than last year.


Cargo
Cargo traffic increased by 3.9% in terms of cargo tonnes carried. Growth in
scheduled traffic was 10.2%. The increase in Asian traffic was 14.5%. The volume
in European traffic increased by 8.0%. In North-Atlantic traffic, cargo volume
increased by 1.9%. Cargo traffic carried on chartered cargo flights decreased by
59.8%. The cargo load factor was 34.4%. The cargo load factor in Asian traffic
was 38.0% and in North Atlantic traffic 77.3%.

Change % refers to the change of the figures of the previous year
Revenue passenger kilometres: Number of revenue passengers carried,multiplied by
kilometres flown.
Available passenger kilometres: Total number of seats available, multiplied by
the number of kilometres flown.
Available tonne kilometres: Number of tonnes of capacity for carriage of
passengers, cargo and mail, multiplies by kilometres flown.
Cabin factor: Share of revenue passenger kilometres of available passenger
kilometres.
Overall load factor: Share of revenue tonne kilometres of available tonne
kilometres.
