Gentlemen,

It’s that time of year again when we all start looking towards the coming year and the possibilities for travel in pursuit of our hobby. Next year AMT will mark 42 years of organizing aviation enthusiast’s tours. Phew!!

Please find below outline plans for 5 tours during 2019. Itineraries and prices will be finalized by the end of November. I am happy to accept “firm" reservations by email or phone. I do not require any deposits at this stage. Hopefully Sterling will not decline much further. Unfortunately, travel is not becoming any cheaper!

Please note that I will be away with a group in S.E. Asia from October 5th till 20th inclusive.

AMT 291 (Feb 7 - 12) DUBAI LONG WEEKEND Fly overnight with Emirates from Gatwick (return on a day time flight); our hotel for 4 nights will be the excellent 5* JW Marriott Hotel, which has a rooftop pool and balcony offering an airport view and a side-on view of all landings & take-offs. Photography (with a long lens) is permitted. UK regional departures will be possible; also single rooms will be available.


AMT 292 (May 1 - 6) SCANDINAVIAN HUBS Fly with Norwegian from Gatwick to Copenhagen, then to Oslo (2 nights). From Oslo make a day trip to Bodo visiting Wideroe’s base and the Air Force Museum. Next will be Stockholm-Arlanda (1 night) with time to visit Bromma airport. Final stop will be Helsinki (2 nights) before returning to Gatwick. The tour will include 7 flights with a 20kg checked baggage allowance (1 piece) and 5 nights staying in airport hotels including breakfast.


AMT 293 (June 6 - 11) PARIS - VIVE LA DIFERENCE! Departing Hatton Cross this 6-day coach trip will provide an opportunity to spend time at the major Paris airports as well as a whole day at the La Ferte Alais famous air show. I am hoping to arrange a private visit to the Musee De L’air storage area at Dugny. Our 5- night hotel stay will be at Le Bourget. Included in the tour’s cost will be a RATP Paris Visite ticket covering all bus/metro zones. The tour is limited to 24 enthusiasts giving everyone a double seat on the coach.


AMT 294 (Aug 23 – 26) SPANISH LONG WEEKEND Fly with Air Europa from Gatwick to Madrid where our 3-night hotel stay will be in Barajas. On Saturday make a return day trip with Air Europa to Barcelona. Sunday will be a free day – time to visit the mound. Then on Monday afternoon return UX flight to Gatwick.


AMT 295 (Oct 11 -22) FAR EAST TOUR featuring Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. Fly overnight with China Airlines from Gatwick to Taipei. After a 2-night stay, including a visit to the downtown airport, we again fly CI to Incheon airport, Seoul.

During our 2-night stay in Seoul we will visit Gimpo airport and also ADEX 2019 – S. Korea’s bi-annual air show. Next Asiana Airlines will take us to Sapporo – Chitose airport.

Our 9-day stay in Japan will include 2 ANA flights – Sapporo to Tokyo and Kansai to Naha, Okinawa. There will be 3 whole days in Tokyo – ample time to visit Narita and Haneda airports (your choice). We will travel by “bullet” train to Nagoya and Osaka. In Nagoya visit both Komaki and Centrair airports. We will stay 2-nights in Naha including an afternoon visit to the observation tower at Kadena AFB. From Okinawa return to Taipei for our final night-stop before making the daytime CI flight back to Gatwick. The tour’s cost will include all flights, 14 nights good class hotel accommodation including breakfast, all transfers and the services of local guides in all 3 countries.
