Star Alliance LOT starter Krakow - Chicago S17

Quote:
oland’s LOT Airlines will start serving a year-round weekly flight between Kraków and Chicago, starting July next year.

The connection between Kraków and Chicago will be operated by one of LOT’s two new Dreamliners that are expected to join the carrier’s fleet in the middle of next year. The weekly flights will complement LOT’s daily Warsaw-O’Hare service.

“Following the announcement of our return to Newark, the launch of a connection between Kraków and Chicago is the best news one can imagine,” Rafał Milczarski, LOT’s CEO said in a statement.

According to LOT, the decision behind the launch was based on the analysis of the growing number of travelers in the route. To date, Chicago has the second largest Polish population outside of Poland, and is home of the largest number of Polish Americans.
