EclipsAir er et nytt fransk flyselskap som skal starte flygninger i juni mellom Frankrike og Marokko. Selskapet leier inn en 737-400 fra Axis-Airways, og skal i første omgang fly Paris-Montpellier og fra Montpellier og Le Havre til Marrakech og Rabat i Marokko. Selskapet eies av PX-AIRways, som også har startet selskapet Funé-Air.

Funé-Air har det noe spesielle formålet å frakte "human remains" mellom Frankrike og Marokko og Algerie. i følge PX-AIRways fraktes det årlig 20.000 kister med fly fra Frankrikie til Algerie og Marokko, og "the need for dedicated services is apparent" Tydeligvis mange nordafrikanske innvandrere som vil begraves "hjemme". French start-up Eclipsair cancels launch plans

French start-up carrier Eclipsair has abandoned its plans to begin scheduled operations from Montpellier Airport this month, after missing its launch date.

Eclipsair was due to begin Boeing 737 operations from Montpellier to the Moroccan cities of Marrakech and Rabat on 27 June, but has failed to launch and is today closing its ticket sales counter at the airport.

The airline is a subsidiary of holding company PX-Airways, which is run by Delphine Jumelle. PX Airways is also parent to Fune Air, a niche airline specialising in the transport of human remains, which travel on the same flight as the family of the deceased, between France and the Maghreb.

A statement issued by Montpellier Airport says: “The president of PX Airways, Delphine Jumelle, has confirmed that the entire flight programme of PX Airways subsidiary Eclipsair, slated for launch on 27 June, is cancelled.”

Despite numerous attempts, ATI’s calls to Eclipsair CEO Pascal Ragneau were not returned.
