En PAN-PAN er vel strengt tatt en spesiell hendelse. Det er ingen umiddelbar fare, men situasjonen har potensiale for å utvikle seg til en farlig situasjon, og er derfor prioritert.

Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC) has 681 staff controlling 4,900 flights a day & with up to 360 at peak times, in an airspace as big as Spain, and one of the busiest and most complex in Europe.
