Ny tysk trend, hviler AOC'et i vinterhalvåret

XL Airways Germany, Hamburg Airways og German Sky Airlines har nå stoppet sine operasjoner, og har sendt sine fly tilbake til leasingfirmaene, samtidig "hviler" de AOC'et i vinterhalvåret. Alle disse har planer om å starte opp driften til våren, men alle unntatt Hamburg har sagt at det er et "men" også.

XL Airways sitt men har nå kommet fram

XL Airways Germany (G1, Frankfurt International (FRA)) has filed for bankruptcy with the local district court in Darmstadt on December 27. XL had operated a fleet of five B737-800s on charter and wet-lease services on behalf of tour operators and other airlines such as Condor (DE, Frankfurt International (FRA)) and Luxair (LG, Luxembourg Findel International (LUX)) but had already temporarily suspended operations on December 14

Hamburg Airways (HK, Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel) has temporarily suspended operations as of December 20, the German civil aviation authority (LBA - Luftfahrtbundesamt) has confirmed to ch-aviation. Its Air Operator Certificate has been suspended and no longer appears on the list of current operating licenses published by the LBA on December 22.

The German charter carrier has operated a fleet of four A320-200s on charter services and hopes to restructure and resume operations again at a later point in time.
