Terminal
On the left hand side of the terminal is a large fence which provides a reasonable view of the north side of the terminal and apron. The right hand side is mostly obstructed by small buildings including the ATC tower. Once you have cleared customs and you come to the main departure lounge, you have a perfect view of the northern side of the terminal and all aircraft parked at the gates or on remote stands can be seen from here.
Runway 07
There is not really a great spot for runway 07 due to the road layout. From the terminal car park it is a short walk onto the sidewalk of the Main Road. Suitable spots can be found there but shrubberies partially block the view, leaving you with just a few seconds to aim for a photo. Walking a little further towards the Freight Village may improve the situation.
General Aviation
Next to the aeroclub 'Wings', aircraft parked on the ramp can be seen. The fence will prevent proper reading off while driving but once parked you should not have a problem getting the ID's. Just 100 meters beyond the General Aviation ramp the flying club 'Ashton Aviation' has a small parking lot offering a great view on the terminal, the apron and most of the General Aviation ramp. With enough millimeters it should be possible to take nice pictures of a B757, but anything smaller than a B737 could turn out to be disappointing.
Relics
Two instructional airframes, respectively stored ones (see also the 'Preserved' part of this airfield) can be found here. You can reach this spot by turning right after passing Alpha Flight Services. Photos of the B737 are reasonably easy to make. For the HS125 you need a compact camera to peek through the fence.
G apron
Due to airport expansion and an increase in overnight parking, this new apron was needed. It provides space for up to three medium sized aircraft. As there is a security post, it might be advisable to park your car at the aeroclub and walk the last part. The fence will only allow photography with compact cameras.
Runway 25
About 100 metres south of the approach lights roadside parking is possible. Especially during weekends with fair weather this is a popular spot. Sun is good from about mid-morning till mid-afternoon. For photography, any common lens will do.
