Re: Om Ryanair, danske fagforeninger og hvor man betaler skatt (splittet fra FR åpner
Et lite google-søk:
Quote:
We're told that up to half of Ryanair's pilots are not on staff but are hired via an agency called Brookfield *Aviation *International, based in Epsom, Surrey.
One self-employed pilot we spoke to spends all the 900 hours he is legally allowed to fly for Ryanair in the cockpit and works when he's told to. He also has to take holiday when the airline lets him.
"If you rock the boat you can be shown the door," he says.
Despite living in England, he has been told to register a company in Ireland and pay his taxes and social security there.
Lawyer Steve Cottingham from employment experts OH Parsons said: "This appears to be one of the most elaborate schemes for declaring someone who would otherwise be an employee, to be an independent contractor."
Jim McAuslan, general *secretary of pilots' union BALPA, said the Civil Aviation Authority allows freelance crew only in "exceptional circumstances" and has called for an investigation.
By our reckoning, the Ryanair pilot who talked to us meets almost every criteria necessary to be classified as an employee.
Both Ryanair and Brookfield disagree and insist they comply with all tax and employment rules.
