SAS trafikktall oktober 2011
Den stabile utviklingen fortsetter for SAS i oktober.
Quote:
SAS Group's October 2011 traffic figures
• SAS Group carried 2.6 million passengers in October, up
96 700 (3,9%).
• SAS Group's traffic (RPK) increased by 2.6% during October
and capacity (ASK) increased 3.3% vs same period last year.
• The passenger load factor decreased by 0.5 p.u. in October to
75%, but was higher than in September 2011.
Group market trends, RASK and yield development
Traffic growth continued to be stable during October and the
load factor was maintained at a very high level. During
September 2011, currency adjusted yield was down by 4%
versus previous year and RASK was down 6.2%. For October
2011, (change vs last year), underlying currency adjusted RASK
and yield continue to be under pressure.
The response to market campaigns has been strong and
forward booking levels are still above last year’s level, but
premium bookings are weaker. Overall, the market growth
continues to be good, but remains unpredictable due to added
capacity in certain markets, risk in the global economy and risk
of continued high jet fuel prices. This is also adding uncertainty
to the yield and RASK outlook going forward.
Scandinavian Airlines is continuously improving its customer
offering, that is also reflected in a clearly improved customer
satisfaction that is the highest in eleven years.
SAS Group product and news update
• SAS has announced 21 new permanent and seasonal
summer routes to be opened during 2012 as part of the
4Excellence strategy.
• SAS popular and award winning self service product offering
continues to increase in popularity. During September 2011,
79% of SAS passengers used self service check-in solutions
whereof 44% checked in “off airport” using internet or mobile
phones.
Scandinavian Airlines’ traffic development
• Number of passengers increased by 4.5% to 2.2 million.
• Traffic increased 4.4% and capacity was up 5%.
• The load factor was down 0.4 p.u. to 76.3%.
Intercontinental traffic grew by 4.3% but as capacity was
increased by 7.8% the load factor decreased by 2.9 p.u. to 87%.
Traffic remained weaker on Asian routes. On European/
Intrascandinavian routes, traffic was up 4%, above all driven by
growth to/from Sweden and growth on Intrascandinavian routes.
Domestic traffic developed well during October and grew by
5.6% combined with an improved load factor.
Widerøe and Blue1’s traffic development
Widerøe's carried 231,000 passengers in October, up 7.2% vs
last year. Capacity was up 11% due to Widerøe taking over SAS
turbo prop production on Norwegian domestic routes, new
routes within Norway and more frequencies. During October
Widerøe opened three new routes; Haugesund-Copenhagen,
Bergen-Brønnøysund and Kristiansand-Copenhagen.
Blue1’s capacity was down 21.2% during October, but number
of frequencies increased 1.5% as a result of the refocus on
Nordic and Finnish domestic routes. Despite fierce competition
on Finnish domestic routes, Blue1’s traffic increased 4% with
almost maintained load factor. Traffic on Scandinavian routes
also grew, while capacity and traffic was reduced on European
routes.
