Scandinavian Airlines has signed a code-share agreement with Star Alliance partner
ANA of Japan. The agreement was signed between Shinichiro Ito, President and
CEO of
ANA, and Rickard Gustafson, President and
CEO of Scandinavian Airlines, in Tokyo yesterday.
As of May 23, customers will be able to book
ANA operated flights between Tokyo's Narita International Airport and Sapporo, Osaka and Fukuoka, which will operate with an SK flight code.
ANA will also add its NH code to
SAS' Tokyo to Copenhagen flights. Furthermore,
ANA will at a later stage also add its NH code to
SAS flights from: London to Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm; Frankfurt to Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm; and from Munich to Copenhagen and Oslo.
"It is almost to the day 60 years since we established the first route between Scandinavia and Tokyo. Tokyo is now one of our most popular long-haul destinations, and this agreement with
ANA signifies the importance of Japan in the
SAS network and the possibility to transport our customers to other important destinations in Japan," says Rickard Gustafson, President and
CEO, Scandinavian Airlines.
Shinichiro Ito,
ANA President and
CEO, said, "We are pleased to welcome Scandinavian Airlines and as our code-share partner and be able to cooperate each other network intra continent, Europe and Japan. Our customers will be able to enjoy a wider network to Europe by this cooperation."
SAS flies daily to Tokyo from Copenhagen.
