Icelandair to open
SFO service [4.10.2004 10:56:13]
Message: Icelandair plans to operate its first service to the Pacific US coast in the spring with the 18 May launch of service between Reykjavik and San Francisco.
The carrier will operate the seasonal service from May to 15 October; twice weekly from 18 May to 1 June and 1 September to October and four-times-a from June to September.
An airline spokeswoman says the airline could consider a year-round service in the future.
Icelandair will use a Boeing 767 on the route, a departure from the 757s used on its other five US gateways. The airline currently operates a 767-300ER, which is not allocated to a specific route.
