Her er en litt annen versjon av hendelsesforløpet .. saken er et stykke ned på siden.
The aircraft was about on take-off run near decision speed (V1) when the crew received indication about an engine problem which prompted them to cancel the take-off. The aircraft came to a safe stop with maximum braking before the end of the runway but due to excessive braking heat at least two tires of the main gear blew up or deflated. Flames erupted briefly in the wheel wells before airport fire service exinguished arrived at the scene. All passengers were evacuate without serious injuries. The 757 was later removed to the tarmac where it is awaiting repairs. At the time of the incident, the aircraft carried out a Hadj flight carrying muslim pilgrims stranded at Goroka to Saudi Arabia. It is understood that the numbers of passengers on board exceeded the number of available seats, a practice that was exceptionally granted by Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority because the flight was oirginaly planned with a larger Boeing 747.
