Delay in design freeze means that long lead items cannot be defined or drawings released to partners/subcontractors to manufacture parts.

Critically - as Airbus is using an equally untested method (as is Boeing) for composite fuselage construction -without definition, the whole project slides farther out - depending on how quickly Airbus can press ahead after freezing the design, the impact also affects the -800 and -1000 timelines too.

A potential 6mth design freeze delay could affect service entry by the same amount of time, if not more.
