IN-FLIGHT
SMS SERVICE FROM MALAYSIA AIRLINES
It has been reported that Malaysia Airlines is upgrading its service to enable short text messages and short emails to be sent and received by passengers through In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) screens.
This service upgrade will be available following Malaysia Airlines's decision to equip all widebody Boeing aircraft in its fleet with SITA's AIRCOM
SMS, the only service in the world that allows both the sending and receiving of text messages during flights.
According to SITA, all passengers travelling on Malaysia Airlines's 17 B747-400 and 15 B777-200 aircraft would be able to have the AIRCOM
SMS facility.
In addition, Asiana Airlines is subscribing the service offered by SITA's AIRCOM
SMS, to be used on board of its B777-200 fleet.
