I'm afraid I have some bad news for some of you!!
The airport down here in St. Maarten is being upgraded. Phase II is in progress now, and should be finished in Sept 2006. This is construction of a new terminal building. After that work will commence in Phase III, and this is were the bad news come in. They are going to add a taxiway, but most importantly, they are adding run-off areas to both runways..effectively extending the runway in both ends.
That means good bye Sunset Beach and Sunset Beach Bar. Views of airliners crossing the beach will become history. So for you who haven't seen it yet...you'd better make plans!!
