28MAR become a deceisive date for the future of VRG (new VARIG), as the
company was purchased by the brazilian low cost carrier GOL.
GOL is one of the worlds most successful low cost carrier and have 40%
marketshare on domestic traffic in Brazil.

According to official informations from GOL management, their plan is to
start up long haul routes from Brazil to London-Paris-Milan-Madrid as soon
as possible and the present VRG operation to Frankfurt will be maintained.

14 Boeing 767s will be used on the long haul flights, with business and
economyclass configuration, first class will be terminated!

The brand name VARIG will be used on international flights, while GOL will
be the brand name on domestic flights in Brazil.

We will like to thank our business partners for their patient and hopefully
we will soon be able to offer a product and service that will be attractive
to the markets, for travel between Europe and South-America!
