Boeing said Monday it would halt production of the company’s 737 Max airplane beginning next month but the company has no plans to furlough workers on the plane’s production line. The company’s CEO recently met with Federal Aviation Administration officials and said Boeing plans to work with the agency to return the plane to service in 2020. The Max has been grounded by aviation authorities including the FAA following a second deadly crash in March.
