A West Wind Aviation Hawker Siddeley HS-780 Andover on behalf of United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP), registration TL-AEW performining a positioning flight from Malakal to Wau (South Sudan) with 4 crew, departed Malakal Airport, the crew however needed to put the aircraft down about 2000 meters from the runway into an open field near River Nile. The aircraft burst into flames, the crew was able to evacuate in time however and escaped without serious injuries, the aircraft burned down and was damaged beyond repair.
