It would make sense if they were designed for low regional aircraft like the Q400 where they can reach the door without getting off the ground. Maybe it was just out of order for my Q400 flight:-(

I came through AAR earlier this week on a domestic connect flight for CPH and noticed some strange ground-level "jetbridges". They were not in use with the Q400 but...
